Kazuaki Horitomo is an artist that has been tattooing for over twenty years. He’s also a cat lover. Combining his two passions- tattoos and felines- he created the Monmon Cats!

The name Monmon Cats comes from Monmon, the Japanese slang word for tattoo. His work shows cats doing the tebori technique, also known as Japanese hand tattooing, on other cats.

Horitomo himself is well versed in tebori and often shares his work on clients who travel from all over the world to go to his shop in California.

Kazuaki has published a book about the Monmon Cats and lots of fantastic illustration. You can see more of his work by following him on instagram and checking his website.
