We caught up with this year’s March Meowdness Champion, Hampton, to see what he’s been up to since his incredible run through the tournament.
Cats vs Cancer: So its been a week since you’ve been crowned 2020 March Meowdness Champion. What have you been up to since?
Hampton: It’s been a whirlwind of excitement, but I’ve mostly spent my time napping and binging on catnip while watching ‘The Tiger King’ on Netflix. Highly recommend to fellow cats.
CVC: Do you think you had a chance at winning the tournament with such a talented field in play this year?
Hampton: Mr. Einstein was a fierce competitor until the very end, but I had faith that my loyal supporters would come out in full force to vote for me! I thank my competitors for helping in the fight against cancer; we are all winners! (except Cheens – his breath smells like Tuna.)
CVC: Has your Instagram following increased since becoming champion?
Hampton: Yes – by a lot! Though I am still in the market for a sponsor. **cough** Looking at you, Fancy Feast! ;-)
CVC: Have your humans treated you to anything special since your big win?
Hampton: Yes, my pawrents surprised me with treats and a kitty fort on Amazon that I’ve had my eye on for quite some time.
CVC: Do you have any big plans for when the pandemic lockdown finally ends?
Hampton: Yes, for my hoomans to finally go back to work at the office so that I can resume having pawties when no one is home. BOOYAH!
